introduction

So maybe you read a bit about me, but are still wondering what exactly is this place and who made it? If you found this on the street, like an  unbound mess of pages and pictures, you might be a little overwhelmed. You’ll  likely open to the first page, and then explore through the first few stories. You’ll skim the pictures and try and get a better idea of who I am and how I see the world. You’ll see the story on top is the most recent but what lies beneath is from a different era.

Maybe you’ll feel a connection, or an understanding, maybe you’ll pass judgement like we all do, I know I would. Maybe, you’ll take it seriously, maybe you’ll admire the intent I put into this place, in trying to organize and theme it…

There are a lot of words, here I try and keep it to a minimum: 1,000 Words

Do you still write postcards?

Our world is filled with Rhetoric.

We all need to Wander.

Some things get caught in the Drain Trap.

If you’re still here, I’m guessing you probably share my passion for adventure, beauty, and introspection, and relate to a few of the thoughts and actions revealed here.

Then, maybe, you’ll look deeper, you’ll start to see shifts and changes, some of them subtle and others drastic. If you’re paying attention, if you’re following along, you’ll see a paradigm shift, an evolution in ideas and actions, you’ll notice I took some breaks, but that somehow there was a thread of continuity in perception.

You’ll probably go back to looking at all the pictures, after all they’re an easier way to get the gist, and certainly to know where I am now, what’s been going on recently and what I might be thinking these days.

Most simply, Nature of Motion is my journal. It’s a theme to remind me that I’m still moving, exploring, creating. It is a digital box and canvas. A place for me to attempt to nourish my creativity, store experiences, and formulate plans. It is my quiet corner of the web, my platform and my personal space. A record of a life like so many others, lost amidst the noise.

But it’s obviously more than that. Normal people don’t just share their journals with the world. Things here can be polished, they can be raw, they can be explicit, or they can be vague, but they will always be for someone other than me. Not that I’m not also writing for myself, to figure things out, but when a piece or a photo makes it into this space, you can bet that I’ve spent some time thinking about how it might be received, what you might get from it, and if it’s even worth sharing.

Whatever it is I’ve decided to put here though, whatever it is for me, it will always be different for you. Not that we can share an understanding, after all, that’s kind of what it’s all about, but more so that we’re all coming from somewhere different, bringing something different to the table. I hope you find something worthwhile here and make good use of it. I hope you leave a note of your own as you encounter a resonant thought, or similar experience.
